The need to advance nutrition education in the training of healthcare professionals and recommended research to evaluate implementation and effectiveness

This article reports on the current status of nutrition and physical activity education for health care professionals and advocates for more training to include nutrition information. This is a serious concern as nutrition is currently recognized as a determinant of 3 of the top 4 leading causes of death in the United States.
