Created by the National Education Association, this resource offers background information and resources for including Juneteenth in your classroom, including videos, lessons and activities, and more. Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States, when, on June 19, 1865, the news of emancipation finally reached over 250,00 enslaved Black people in Texas and signaled their freedom.
