Hello! My name is Rachel Gray and I recently joined the NOW Forum! I am currently an undergrad student studying social work and I'm interning at Vital Village this spring. I will graduate in May and look forward to what comes next, although I am not sure yet what that will be. I am passionate about systems change surrounding trauma, poverty, and mass incarceration. I believe that community leadership and collaboration are the key to those changes and that our communities hold great wisdom that deserves to be shared. As a native English speaker and someone who does not speak any other languages, learning from those who are multi-lingual is so valuable and a much need and necessary perspective as we work towards language justice. I look forward to continuing to honor and celebrate the beauty of language within our communities. Some valuable questions I try to ask myself are 'Who's voice is not here? Who is missing? How do we provide equitable access to all people, potentially through the use of translations and communications?' These have been helpful in centering community voice. I will definitely take a listen to this episode!
